Best Beaches?

Everyone and his dog has a best this best that list.  And that is very true for beaches.  And who wouldn't want to know where the best ones in the world are?  In a future article, we'll post our own agents' list, but for now, let's settle on the latest list put together by Tripadvisor.  According to them (ie. their members), the world's best beaches are:

1. Lanikai Beach (Kailua, Oahu): "An absolutely stunning, tranquil, uncrowded oasis!!"

2. Horseshoe Bay Beach (Southampton, Bermuda): "Clean, pink, powder sand with beautiful blue-green water. Wow!"

3. Rosemary Beach (Panama City Beach, FL)

4. Rialto Beach (Olympic National Park, WA)

5. Crane Beach (Ipswich, MA)

6. Orient Beach (St. Maarten/St Martin)

7. Gold Rock Beach (Grand Bahama Island)

8. Smuggler's Cove (tortola, British Virgin Islands)

9. Paradise Beach (Cozumel, Mexico)

10. Haupna Beach (Kamuela, HI)

As you can see, this is a clearly American-biased list, covering mostly USA and Caribbean locations.  For a more global perspective, check out Conde Nast Magazine's annual "Best Beaches List" (can also be found in concierge.com).  Most intriguing of all: according to The Guardian, the world's best beach is on Cies Island, a pristine and spectacular island, accessible by ferry from Vigo, just off the north-west coast of Spain.  We have clients visiting here shortly, and may update you on their opinion.
